Young Lawyers Engage with DAP-K Leadership on 2027 Aspirations

On 4th April 2025, the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) hosted a vibrant engagement at Chui House, Karen, bringing together a group of young, ambitious lawyers aiming to vie for various positions in the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, opened by Rodney from the DAP-K Secretariat, served as a platform for these professionals to share their aspirations, raise key questions about party processes, and suggest ways to grow the party’s influence nationally.
Among the standout proposals were:
- Establishing party offices in Nyeri and Embu to expand beyond the Western region.
- Waiving nomination fees for youth aspirants.
- Launching a DAP-K Lawyers’ League to provide pro bono legal services to the party.
- Increased focus on digital outreach and civic education campaigns targeting youth.
The lawyers also expressed strong interest in engaging directly with elected DAP-K leaders to learn and grow within the party’s structures. A follow-up meeting is scheduled, where the Party Leader and Youth Leader are expected to attend.
This initiative marks a bold step in nurturing young leadership within DAP-K, as the party continues to open its doors to the next generation of changemakers.
